Now the resolution itself is nothing extraordinary. We get a new sensor: 24 megapixels and the third X-Trans version.

PHOTONINJA USER REVIEW SERIES

The reason for this is simple: it inaugurates a new generation of X series cameras – the third if we base everything on sensor specs, although to me it feels more like a second generation.

Three years on from that review, I must say that Fujifilm is getting closer to this abstract ideal, or at least the new X-Pro2 makes me think that way on paper.įirst, it is a relevant step forward for the Fujifilm community and by community I mean both Fujifilm itself and Fujifilm users/photographers interested in the Fuji system. I clearly remember the title that I chose when I published my review of the X-Pro1: a system that aims for perfection. I wanted to write something on MirrorLessons as well but instead of harping on too much about the various specs and features, I decided to share a few musings about these new products – particularly the X-Pro2, Fujifilm’s new flagship model. I feel that 2016 is going to be a year of very hard (and enjoyable) work!

Heather and I pre-ordered the X-Pro2 and X70 this morning, and we will start our in-depth review following the same philosophy with which we’ve approached all our reviews to date: image galleries, in-depth articles and comparisons. Since we haven’t seen or touched any of these products yet, we’ve published all our reports on our new mirrorless curation website using the official specifications as a reference.

PHOTONINJA USER REVIEW UPDATE

Not only is the highly anticipated X-Pro2 here at long last, but we were also presented with two other new cameras, a flash unit, a lens and a firmware update … and it is only January 15th! What will Fujifilm do for Photokina, I wonder?įirst let’s start with a personal note about all these announcements. PN actually significantly decreased my desire to invest in Merrils/Foveon.In case you hadn’t noticed (but if you follow camera blogs it is unlikely), Fujifilm announced a lot of new products today.

PHOTONINJA USER REVIEW WINDOWS

In the end if I could only have one(I'm a windows user - so cant consider Iridient), I'd have to side with LR based on the feature set, but if you can afford the money and time to process with both(I don't need to process hundreds of images at a time) - seems like a great option at this point. From her on out, I plan to do everything I can in PN and go into LR for the added functionality if I need to make any local adjustments. Once I got used to the UI, it takes me far less time in PN than LR to get the final detail and color I'm after. After getting used to it, I wont be going back to LR for the majority of my editing and am slowly going back through old images and re-editing.

Got bored a few weekends ago and decided to buy PN. Regardless, I decided to stick with LR for simplicity and chalking this up to pixel peeping. It had a pop that I couldn't seem to get with LR. Tried PN for the first time(about 6 months ago), didn't particularly like the UI and speed of processing, but preferred the image quality. Was never quite satisfied when I got home and saw the colors in LR(ended up making a preset tweaking yellows along with some other hue adjustments, which made a positive difference), and kept considering going back to bayer to get that detail my Ricoh GR was showing and Fuji couldn't seem to compete with.which was a heartbreaker due to my love for the layout of the high end x-series cameras and glass. Have been a LR user for a long time, and didn't want to change, but also felt like something was off on my landscape shots. I struggled for a while with this decision.
